This Month will be very busy month for ART FAIRS visitors and collectors. First Tefaf Maastricht starting March 16-24, followed by a visit in Hong Kong at Art Basel, from March 29th through 31st.

Rosemont Art Advisory will be present at Tefaf in Maastricht with our collectors who joined the art club and we are looking forward to the discovery. Our Rosemont Hong Kong office colleagues will be visiting Art Basel later this month.

Here a short presentation of the two fairs for our readers.

TEFAF Maastrich - 16->24 March 2019

Established in 1988, TEFAF is widely regarded as the world’s pre-eminent organization for fine art, antiques, and design. TEFAF runs three Fairs internationally - TEFAF Maastricht, which covers 7,000 years of art history; TEFAF New York Spring, focused on modern and contemporary art & design; and TEFAF New York Fall, covering fine and decorative art from antiquity to 1920.
TEFAF gives international dealers the platform to present museum-quality works of all eras and genres to a broad base of collectors and connoisseurs.
In addition to its annual TEFAF Maastricht fair in March at the MECC (Maastricht Exhibition & Congress Center) in the Netherlands, TEFAF expanded to the United States in October 2016. It presents two additional Fairs - TEFAF New York Fall and TEFAF New York Spring - held in October and May respectively, in the global art center, New York City.

China forms the subject of this year’s TEFAF Art Market Report. Entitled TEFAF Art Market Report: The Chinese Art Market, the new report has been written by Kejia Wu, Professor at Sotheby’s Institute New York and Columnist for FTChinese. The report will be launched at the TEFAF Art Symposium with a presentation by Professor Wu. The TEFAF Art Symposium will take place at the MECC, Maastricht at 10am on 15th March 2019.

The launch of the Art Market Report will be followed by an interview with Kou Qin, President and CEO of Guardian Investment Holdings Co. Ltd and General Manager of Guardian Art Centre and a panel discussion Collectors and Collecting: The Landscape of the Art Market in China, moderated by Thomas Marks, Editor of Apollo.  The panel discussion will bring together collector Liu Gang, Ben Brown from Ben Brown Fine Arts and Adele Schlombs, Director of the Museum of East Asian Art in Cologne.
